Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me?

A delightful childhood axiom that most of us will remember, but is it true?

Words do have an immense power and over the centuries of human history, it was the words that were used by good and evil people that brought hope, enlightenment or unleashed forces of huge destruction upon the mankind.

In the context of Wales and “words” we are seeing an interesting phenomenon through the increased usage of a language defined as ableist (expressions used to label and insult whenever no rational argument is available that can stand scrutiny).

Not long after I formed the Glasnost UK website and started sharing my views upon the Welsh post-devolution realities, I became a target to some truly obnoxious low life Welsh speaking trolls.

These ‘people’ felt that by demeaning me through lies and distortions on various nationalist blogs or other public platforms that somehow the well-researched and factual essays published on Glasnost and elsewhere will be deemed worthless and dismissed.

This strategy failed but then through their ‘ingenuity’ they opted for the ableist approach and overnight I became some or all of the following ‘diminutives’, (Featured on BBC Wales web pages, most of Welsh press and the Social Media too):

A Fuckwit / A Nazi / A Serb Racist / An English Coloniser / A Twat / A Welsh Hater and a lot more including the most often and commonly used ‘advice’: “Fuck Off to England”!

Last week I made a comment on a rather crude obituary published in the Western Mail – WOL (Wales on Line) on the death of A A Gill where the article was more concerned on reminding the Welsh readership of his ‘hatred for Wales’ rather than perhaps using the time-honored approach of not speaking bad of the dead!

Fortunately, A A Gill’s contribution to journalism, including his wit and brilliance was highlighted and honoured in the national media and it is unlikely he’ll be turning in his grave for facing the wrath of the Welsh Nats but by defending his stance and freedom of speech I got this reply on WOL pages:

wol-11-12-16

To my thinking, a despicable comment and carefully worded not to appear as a direct threat but menacing nevertheless and perhaps intended to incite others to resort to violence?

As I understand it, the ‘author’ of the comment Kevin Bates, now lives in Scotland but there are ‘loads’ more in Wales that never lose an opportunity to insult me including the so-called ‘journalists’ from the Daily Post (Trinity-Mirror publishing group that includes the Wales on Line):

mari-jones-daily-post-15-10-16

Back to the beginning and my assertion ‘do the words hurt’?

Whilst the insults and the abuse I often get, do not have a direct impact on me as I and long ago got immune from such nonsense, however it does have an impact on my friends and family.

I try hard to hide instances of this nature and shield them from it but it’s not easy to do so and people do get hurt, but can’t see the Welsh nats shedding any tears anytime soon!

I’ll conclude with a quote, the origin of which escapes me at present but very apt in the context of this article:

It’s difficult to win arguments against clever people but damn  impossible to do so against the small-minded bigots’

Do I deserve this for exposing the Orwellian Social Engineering of Wales through Welsh Labour Government’s compulsion measures to create a ‘bilingual society’ by imposing a language and a culture of little to no relevance to most people of Wales?

I assume any answer to my question above, hinges on ‘Who is Welsh’?

The privileged minority of circa 10% of the Welsh population and all Welsh speakers as the language one or the 80% majority of Anglo-Welsh who live their lives through the English language?

The missing 10% are the Wenglish who use the Anglicised version of Welsh for social interaction but lack ability to read or write Welsh and often dismissed by the privileged puritans as irrelevant or even worse, being called the English!

Horizon Nuclear Boss grovelling but still gets NUKED

The ‘nuclear saga’ continues and little headway made, since I wrote the initial article ‘More problems for Theresa May’.

A grovelling apology has been issued last week to the Welsh nationalists by Horizon’s Nuclear Power CEO Duncan Hawthorne through an open letter, only to be dismissed with contempt.

The ‘Get English Out’ brigade’s response was neatly summed up in the local press (NW Chronicle – 8th Sept 16) in the following extract:

horizon-lp-ii077-2

It appears there is little common ground between the two parties and highly unlikely that any compromise will be reached anytime soon (The fact that Anglesey and Wales are desperate for investment and jobs, seems to matter not)?

It also appears to many who are observing the ‘nuclear developments’, that these people have no relationship with the process of reasoning and have conveniently forgotten that the original nuclear power station the Wylfa I Magnox which was commissioned back in 1971 has gone through the nearly identical process.

Other than the significant economic benefits, there was no damage to the ‘privileged minority’, their culture or their language and all of that before the TAN 20 legislation granting the Welsh speakers a ‘protected status’ anywhere in Wales and well before the ‘Welsh language Police’ was created (Welsh Language Commissioner)!

Since then the nationalists in this part of Wales (Anglesey and Gwynedd) have achieved the total stranglehold of the Local Governance including the education and are imposing their language and their culture with no mercy or seem to hold any respect that on Anglesey the non-Welsh speakers are in majority.

Both Counties have removed English Medium education in the primary years a long time ago (ending up with an abysmal quality of education) and all public jobs are strictly there for the Welsh speakers only – Democracy, fair and reasonable, I think not – Racial Discrimination, more likely?

Back to Horizon’s CEO’s letter, here in full:

“The Wylfa Newydd power station will create generations of high quality employment for local, Welsh-speaking people.

If you look at the existing Wylfa station you’ll see Welsh speakers, doing high quality jobs. If you look at the existing Horizon offices, you’ll see Welsh speaking people doing high quality jobs, and this Autumn they’re joined by Welsh speaking apprentices embarking on high quality careers. We support the Welsh language because we want to, not just because we need to.

This week, frankly, we’ve made a bit of a mess of communicating this by not properly explaining some amendments we asked for to draft local planning guidance. We’re sorry if this has given the wrong impression about our commitment. Put simply, we were worried that wording in the draft guidance could have led to Wylfa Newydd being unable to go ahead if there was any impact on Welsh language, in any area, for even a short time, regardless of the undoubted long term benefit. We’ll do a better job of making this clearer as we look to resolve this issue.

We can’t claim there won’t be any impacts to manage during the build phase because every big construction project the world over needs to bring in some people from outside. This is why we’re working hard, not just on our long term plans to foster the language, but on ways of dealing with any temporary impacts. We make no secret of this, we’re honest about it – in fact please come to our consultation events this month and next where you can pick up updated plans, and talk to our teams (in English or Welsh) about language issues, and all other aspects of the Wylfa Newydd project”.

1984 for real: Death of English Medium Education for primary school pupils in Wales

jp1

The Welsh Labour Government wants ONE MILLION Welsh speakers by 2050 and to do so is planning to eliminate English language teaching in primary schools, what are the implications?

After 17 years of Labours’ dominance of Welsh politics their Social Engineering Agenda is finally in the open but anyone expecting a debate on the merits of dragging Wales back into the 13th century world or any scrutiny of such policies is going to be disappointed – Welsh Media does not tolerate dissent or any ‘disrespect’ of the Welsh language and its culture!

We are only days away from the Welsh Assembly elections and most of us have seen endless politico posturing and their promises of a better tomorrow to get our vote but none of the Party Political Broadcasts including the leader debates have ever touched upon the Welsh language imposition –   there is only a Deafening Silence!

Take the article following this extended preamble which has been ‘shamelessly plagiarised’ from BBC Wales’ web pages: “Welsh Labour to create One Million Welsh speakers by 2050” (BBC Wales has a habit of removing pages that may prove to be embarrassing to their cause).

The only external body invited by BBC to comment was the Welsh language pressure group (Cymdeithas yr Iaith), at best a looney organisation basing their ‘living’ upon a simple premise “Every child born in Wales has an entitlement and a birth right to speak Welsh”

Putting aside the sheer madness of their stance and unreserved support of anything Welsh or Cymraeg as they call it, BBC Wales doesn’t say, or asks how One Million Welsh speakers are going to be created.

WELSH DEVOLUTION – A Single Party Governance on Orwellian Terms: 16 years of failure and more to come!

manifesto

With the Assembly elections looming upon us the Welsh electorate has some unenviable choices to make, but can it make the real choices in the absence of the free media and with virtually no scrutiny  of the key issues that have made Wales a basket case ‘nation’ of Europe and the UK?

Of all the devolved UK regions, Wales happens to be relatively unique in the context that it has a ‘living’ minority language and a culture that has somehow become ‘More Equal’ and where some 7% of fluent Welsh speakers have managed to take over the Ownership of Wales.

It’s not simple to explain this phenomenon but the nationalist agenda of creating a ‘Welsh speaking Cymru (Wales)’ started a long time ago and over time they managed to infiltrate the key Welsh institutions, then simply waited for the right opportunity to arrive.

The following statement is from the House of Lords archives (1958) and it goes a long way to explain what’s happening in Wales today:

“Welsh nationalists have captured the BBC Wales and are making a determined assault on our schools. I am afraid these Eisteddfod-going Welsh-language-thumping people will stop at nothing to force their views on the majority”

Devolution has given them the gift they waited for, then the sinister political manipulation of devolved powers by the Welsh speaking Labour Party leaders (Rhodri Morgan first and now Carwyn Jones) who together with the unquestionable complicity and support of the Welsh Media (BBC / ITV Wales) and to the lesser extent Western Mail and the Daily Post seemingly managed to achieve the impossible – A Tribal Minority ruling the Majority!

Fluent Welsh speakers have created a myth that Wales belongs to them: “Their Country, Their Language, Their Culture“. Therefore, the Welsh Governance should be on their terms – A form of self-granted ‘Exceptionalism’ and all at a huge price to Wales and so it seems everything that matters or should matter to Wales is now in a terminal decline!

LIGHT A FIRE FOR WALES – Burn an English Home

mug350Mug Inscription: Taniwch Dros Cymru which when translated means ‘Light a Fire for Wales’, the motif shown depicts a Burning Home and to make sense in the Welsh context it must be an English home?

This is a chilling and sinister Welsh souvenir from the not so distant past and whilst the burning of English homes has stopped, Wales now has a new and an equally sinister order named ‘ENGLISH NOT’.

The Welsh Labour Government over the last 16 years has used its devolved powers to elevate a minority language and its culture through compulsion and diktat to a privileged position.

The better informed but gagged and silenced people of Wales see this as a Social Engineering concept not seen in Europe since the Stalinist era and for some very good reasons:

It’s now no longer possible for the lesser equals (Non Welsh speakers circa 80% +) to hold most of the public jobs or to educate their children THROUGH THE MEDIUM OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE (The parental freedom of choice to choose educational language for their children in primary years has been or is being removed by the Local Education Authorities on Anglesey, Gwynedd, Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire)

This policy has been fully endorsed by the Welsh Government and by Estyn also and is now a format planned for the rest of Wales.

These measures appear to have the full blessing of BBC Cymru Wales (note the order!) and other Welsh media who will say and do anything to suppress, sanitise, and squash an open debate on this subject.

Perhaps we should not be surprised that anything that matters or should matter in Wales is in a downward spiral; including standards in Education, the NHS and the Economy (Is a common link the Welsh Language)?

The people of Wales should take the heed of Gwyn Thomas and what he had to say on this subject some 30 years ago.

Finally and back to the contemporary Wales, came across a fascinating assessment of Welsh Government’s Orwellian world by Natalie Solent on Samizdata web pages and well worth reading:

Y Fro Nationalists ‘Shoot down Royal Air Force’

At this very moment David Cornock of BBC Wales, as their Westminster correspondent, has written an article which touches upon the Welsh Language: “William Hague’s Bed Time Reading” ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-politics-29159356 ) and inadvertently opened up a small opportunity for those who feel uneasy about being forced to assimilate into the Welsh language and its culture to express their feelings and thoughts.

This is easier said than done as BBC Wales in post devolution Wales excels itself by sanitising and censoring comments that expose sheer nonsense and insanity of Welsh language imposition and policies in Wales, especially in education, that is damaging children “Socially and Academically”.

This brings me back to RAF Valley on Anglesey who in 2011 published on their website a Welcome Message from the Station Commander to promote Day School Allowance for North Wales (DSA) aimed at service personnel with young children – In other words RAF is providing an opportunity of good education for children in their care in English language within the local independent schools, by funding the school fees.

Are North Wales Police Protecting The Ugly Face Of Welsh Nationalism?

With the Scottish independence issue quickly approaching the ‘Day of Reckoning’, we have seen horrendous instances of Scottish nationalism and its hatred of anything English.

Anti-English racists, better known as ‘Cybernats’ are using internet to intimidate, threaten, smear and demean anyone who happens to hold a different viewpoint or belief on the question of Scottish Independence.

We do have legal provisions to protect people from hate campaigns at long last and certainly in the Sottish context the Crown Office may start to get tough on the trolls and make them accountable for the often incessant and hysterical on-line abuse of innocent victims.

Time will tell if the Crown chooses to act and prosecute as they have the tools and could demand locking up the low-life nationalists, assuming they are found guilty in Courts of Law, for up to five years.

Personally, I’m not holding my breath that anything tangible will be done as nationalists in the UK context seem to be the ‘protected species’. Often authorities, mistakenly in my view, choose to turn a blind eye through ‘political expedience considerations’ rather than to face head-on the bullies who believe that they are untouchable and above the law.

Overzealous political expedience and political correctness must never be a consideration if we are going to have a fair and balanced society and above all we must uphold the duty of care by protecting vulnerable and abused people in our society – Case in point, the current Rotherham Child Abuse Scandal, that could have and should have been avoided. In other words there must never again be ‘Sacred Cows or Invisible Elephants’ that create precedents for doing NOTHING!
